Mid-Counties provides order management responsibilities for low-volume products,
low-margin products, ancillary or complementary products, legacy products, or any products
that do not justify the overhead necessary for manufacturers to maintain and distribute.
The order management responsibilities include order tracking, product packaging and
handling, shipping and distribution, purchasing, and account management.
Key Benefits
 | Increase inventory space for high-volume, high-margin products. |
 | Allow manufacturer to focus on core business, not order tracking. |
 | Utilize e-commerce to give user single order point for all products and
services, yet transparently outsource some product management and service management as
needed. |
 | By utilizing web technology, MCD can transparently provide product management
services while customers still believe they are dealing with the manufacturer. |
 | Establish a scaleable system that can handle as few or as many
products/orders as possible while maintaining fixed cost and fixed margins for
manufacturer. |
 | Manufacturer is able to leverage expertise and specialization of MCD
instead of purchasing resources to do it in-house. |
 | Move products with finite product life out of active inventory into
aggregator's inventory. |
 | Increase customer service by increasing direct contact with end
customers. |
 | Eliminate costs required to support ordering, warehousing and shipping. |
Capabilities
Mid-Counties provides order entry and tracking capabilities, shipping and
distribution, product packaging, inventory management, and product/order account
management. Additionally, Mid-Counties is committed to using
technology whenever possible to facilitate and improve the process of doing business.
Mid-Counties has the technical infrastructure set up to utilize E-Commerce to provide
Order Management. MCD's corporate objectives support integrating software
applications and web-based technologies in order to improve the quality and speed of
services provided.
- Order Entry and Tracking
- MCD uses MIS' computerized Order Management system. It can handle several
thousand orders a day, and together with our customer service staff, can easily
accommodate MCD's daily workload. The status of each order can be individually tracked,
and upon completion, the order information is automatically integrated into the Accounting
Management system.
- Shipping and Distribution
- Some of MCD's customers have established distribution agreements with MCD
to store, package and ship specific products. They rely on MCD to store and package
software products and documentation, and then ship those products to customers throughout
the world.
- Product Packaging
- MCD has the facilities to package any product prior to final shipment.
Whether it is adhering company logo stickers or boxing components in bubble wrap, MCD can
process inventories prior to final distribution to ensure that products have the exact
look and feel the manufacturers require.
- Inventory Management
- MCD maintains two warehouses for long-term or short-term storage, one in
San Jose and one in Santa Cruz.
- Product/Order Account Management
- MCD's integrated Order Management and Accounting application allows MCD
to track the status of each order and provide customers with a real-time status of their
shipments or accounts.
